Bush Fire Lunch Hour Radio Fellowship

Following on from the surprise of the Holy Spirit back in September I have been speaking each weekday on Radio Liberty FM90.00 with pastor Simon and others. I started off with no plan as the Holy Spirit is good at showing me what to speak about. Can be a lot disconcerting when I'm sat in the studio waiting for the others to arrive by their African timescale knowing that I have to speak for anything between 15-minutes and the full hour. Yes I can fall back on my pet talks, but I just never have to; He is so good to me. One of the other guys will open up the programme and through the introduction or what Martin the radio presenter says I know the life challenges that I have to speak into.

It goes without saying that the Father Heart of God is continually being revealed through me to the listeners and the scriptures that the Holy Spirit opens up to me. These times are so encouraging to me, particularly as the others in the studio hang onto every word that I am saying. After I hand over to Simon for prayer time he latches onto what I have been teaching and then leads into praying for the listeners as the Holy Spirit leads him.

This last week or so before I left for Kampala, I sensed that I had to open up the book of Acts emphasising that we can do nothing without the Holy Spirit. I covered chapter 1 through to first part of chapter 10. Last Sunday Bushfire had planned a baptism service and I was asked to preach. The church was full to overflowing about half were from the the radio listeners wanting to hear and see those who spoke to them on the radio. One man gave his testimony of how God had spoken to him through the programme and he came to be baptised.

We baptised over thirty people in the river Yei next to boys washing a vehicle and motorbikes. One of the boys washing a Land Cruiser had tears in his eyes as he asked us to baptise him just as we were about to leave the water. So Simon talked to him and then asked him the questions and we baptised him. His friends watching, laughing and cheering him on.

We have done a baptism certificate which will have their photo attached. Baptism certificates become identification documents here.

Take a look at the photo album of the baptisms.
