Welcome to Iris, South Sudan
On Sunday 11th it was goodbye again to Asili and his team at Hope for the Future, Wudu when I left Magnum to wait for our pick-up to be
freed from the border. Thank you Jesus for safe travel on public transport from Moyo through Northern Uganda to Koboko and then sort of hitched a lift in a car delivering all-sorts along the way to the border town of Kaya. I then sat in a private hire car for an hour whilst another four people were rounded up for the journey to Yei.
Irina picked me up from town and drove me back to the compound to an amazing welcome from the children. I felt like a prince (that I am) as they waved flags and tree branches with singing and shouting.
Tuesday to Friday I was teaching at YWAM DTS school, which went really well. I was going to finish the week with a Father’s Blessing, but I sensed the Holy Spirit say ‘wait’, so I intend to go back for half-day probably in November,
Give thanks for a safe journey for Magnum in the car over an extremely bad road from Kajo Kaji to Yei. The 20-year old car performed to perfection.
Today the boys dug a trench for the solar electric cables that will provide some lighting for the older children to do some studying in the evening,
Thursday we travel to Juba to see some of our pastors annd leaders to prepare for and do an outreach in one of the villages.
