Revelation Life (First posted Monday 1st August 2011)

Revelation Life is based at Wellspring, which is a ministry providing a Church fellowship, an excellent primary school education and a 24-hour health care clinic; and accommodation for conferences and delegates etc. Herbert and his wife Evie head up Wellspring and they have been supportive in so many ways both personally to Simon & Nicola and to their Revelation Life Ministry.

Well I arrived Friday morning to a very warm welcome first from Amy and then the rest of the RL team at our team training session. In the afternoon I joined the team and went to Kasubi Street Club Some of us played football with the kids whilst other chatted with a few Mommas and nursed and played with smaller children. Three girls on the school had also arrived early, so the four of us made a tuna pasta for dinner.

Saturday I rested more with no distractions to email and FB as the power was down following overnight storms. Saturday evening I made pasta with corned beef and bolognese-sauce (bottled never been seen in my kitchen before!)

Sunday was a great day with worship at Wellspring in the morning. The rest of the mission school students arrived mid-morning and we did orientation and some basic training including health and safety in the afternoon. In the evening we had worship, soaking and ministry. After the students left we tidied up the room and then the Holy Spirit tidied up the team or did he he mess up the team

Today was the first day of school with morning worship, two excellent teaching sessions by Steve Lamb, which included a memorable quote “ We should be relentless in our pursuit of Jesus. Loving so radically it is violent and faithful beyond what we have ever known or experienced” This young man’s testimony and his gift to teach and preach is set to be an influential part in taking this generation for Jesus. I’ll try and get data of his testimony for posting later.

This afternoon the team of which I am part went to Kasubi to do football training. I attached myself to Mike who was training the children I suppose up to about 10 may be twelve. He was teaching them (and me) how to control the ball with both feet and shoot after dribbling the ball around a post marker. I was the goalie and made a few good saves but missed an awful lot!

Pray for:

+ for the young people on the Revelation Life School of Mission here in Bweyogerere.

+ Give thanks for the excellent football training given to the youngsters of Kasubi during outreach this afternoon

+ Pray for the team that we continue to build good relationships with each other and the students

I’ll post a photo album of the afternoon
